Most people receive access to InfiniteMD through their employer or health plan. Our services are often available at low or no cost to the consumer and their family members.
Depending on your location in the U.S. or internationally, your options for the type of second opinion requested may have certain regulatory restrictions.
In some instances, InfiniteMD serves as the technology partner for specific hospitals, in which case requests for second opinions would be handled directly through that institution’s website.

How soon can I receive a Virtual Expert Opinion?
Once we collect your medical records, it takes an average of 2-5 days to get advice from one of our expert physicians.
How does InfiniteMD choose a physician for each case?
Our priority is to match your case with the physician(s) best suited for your questions and that is available as soon as possible.
Does InfiniteMD collect medical records?
Yes, a member of our CareTeam will collect your medical records based on the physicians and facilities you identify when you start a case.
If you already have your medical records, we will gladly accept them when we begin your case.
Will InfiniteMD collect medical records are outside of U.S.?
Yes, our CareTeam will work with facilities outside the U.S. to retrieve any relevant records and imaging.
As part of our services, InfiniteMD also handles the translation and summarization of any non-English records.
Can InfiniteMD provide video consultations in other languages?
Yes, InfiniteMD will include a medically trained interpreter for any case that requires it. Additionally, many of our physicians are multilingual.
Am I a patient of InfiniteMD?
InfiniteMD facilitates the exchange of expert advice online. The nurses on our CareTeam and physicians in our network are not your treating providers.
We strongly encourage all consumers to share their Case Summary with their treating physicians.
We also welcome collaborative consultations where treating providers can interact with our expert physicians via our secure platform.

How does InfiniteMD protect my information?
InfiniteMD takes the security and protection of your health information seriously. We meet or exceed all federal requirements for protecting personal health information (PHI) under the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 and the security and privacy settings set by the HHS for a Health Information Exchange.
All communications are transmitted over a secure 128-bit encrypted SSL connection. Our data is kept offsite at a secure facility regularly used by HIPAA-covered entities, and is backed up to another secure offsite facility.
